Unit 2: Building the Future in 3D

15 lessons/sessions

In this immersive design experience, students work in teams and take on the role of architects and entrepreneurs as they tackle the Tiny House Design Challenge, creating innovative housing solutions for individuals experiencing homelessness. Using architectural drafting, 3D modeling, and augmented reality, teams design functional, constraint-based living spaces that address real human needs. Along the way, students explore career pathways in architecture, design, and emerging technologies while strengthening their ability to apply the Engineering Design Process in meaningful ways. The unit culminates in team presentations where students pitch their designs, simulating real-world entrepreneurial experiences.
